Tomo 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2008 $2,500 for the lot ??? Haha unfortunately not. but next to "8M3" which is listed on plates.co.nz in resale for $5500 ONO, my plates look like a bargain. and thats just one example. Brokering plates seems quite popular... 3 SERIES 93 Report post Posted September 3, 2008 (edited) Common, fill us in how these plate came into your posession? Would love to know the history behind the E30 & E36 ones. Edited September 3, 2008 by 3 SERIES
Tomo 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2008 Oh all right. Back in 1989 the government issued trailers registration plates with one letter and 2 numbers combination. e30 was on some old custombuilt trailer 1978 until the registration was canceled in 1994. The land transport registry says you can re-register a govt. issued plate after it has been de-registered for more than five years. e30 has been sitting dormant for fifteen. I stumbled upon this on carfax and quickly gave plates a call, they checked with the registry and it was mine within an hour. But; something to note, just because its on carfax as registration canceled doesnt mean it's still available- as i found out with the rest of the e-codes. It just means someone else has possibly got there first and not registered it to a car yet.
E30stz 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2008 (edited) Obtaining those plates wouldnt be easy and rather expensive. Acting as an agent for real owners? Seems all those plates were registered previously to trailors then de-registered. Edited September 3, 2008 by Flux
