ThreeOneEight 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2008 Houndstooth fabric on pre FL seats, Velour on facelift. That's if there's no leather. Early pre FL's had a digital clock, but after about 1986, analogue replaced it. And a pre FL 318i wore an M10 engine, whereas the FL has an M40. The windscreen surrounds on a pre FL are anodised or chrome and black finish, where the FL is black only. (I think... getting really anorak-ish here!) There's heaps of little things, really! Generally, the FL appears better rustproofed, too. Though this might be a point of contention.
isis 16 Report post Posted September 6, 2008 facelift - body is galvanised and no rust pre - non galvanised and prone to rust
tire 10 Report post Posted September 6, 2008 The fl 325i had revised (better) engine management. 1.1 to 1.3, or 1.0 to 1.3, or 1.0 to 1.1 depending on where you read it. The easiest/quickest way to spot the difference is the chrome. facelift - body is galvanised and no rust pre - non galvanised and prone to rust Big call... evidence?? antil33t 90 Report post Posted November 23, 2010 I dunno if my car is galvanised, but it seems to have a under-seal under the entire body. Also the expansion tanks are on opposing sides

Cale 36 Report post Posted November 23, 2010 ^ Also, the rear wheel arch is lower than front w/ facelift. Pre-fl arches are the same height. Also, the tail lights.
Jacko 2154 Report post Posted November 23, 2010 (edited) foot8sativa - realoem.com and throw ya serial number in there and it will pop up with a lot of details about your car, and p/n's for everything. I tried to get ya vin from the tardme rego plate to put a link up, but they must have the wrong vin recorded as it comes up with an E28 ? Unless realoem doesnt work with safa assembled cars. Should be the last 7 digits of ya vin. Edited November 23, 2010 by Jacko
