3 SERIES 93 Report post Posted March 16, 2009 Probably best to speak to your insurance company to see who they recommend as its normally a freebe under most policies. Normally Smith & Smith are the go.

It will be insurance but the last time I used S&S here in Auckland they scratched the paint, and trim, ripped the rubber seal and the mirror fell off two weeks after. The service was pathetic, I brought it up before I took the car away and they said oh that sometimes happens. Thankfully it was only on a piece of cr** Chrysler Voyager. Wazza07 3 Report post Posted March 22, 2009 Mate - you must be the most tolerant person around! I wouldn't be wearing that.Hey Elmarco it wasn't that bad and as I said it was only a crap American car!!! LOLI would have to say Auckland Autoglass's service leaves a lot to be desired. IMO. After bringing two incorrect screens they said we will ring back in 20 min and let me know what was happening. That was last Wed, maybe his watch stopped. westy 614 Report post Posted March 22, 2009 We took the E46 to the dealer when the screen needed replacing. Came back fine and the insurance wore the cost.
mtech1e30 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2009 I work for a rental car company, we get a LOT of windscreens replaced (1-4 a week) and we use these guys. http://www.autoglas-stieger.co.nz/ They are good, they have fixed up botched S&S jobs for us quite a few times. Give them a call.

LOL I would have to say Auckland Autoglass's service leaves a lot to be desired. IMO. Maybe I am just getting intolerant in my old age - I do acknowledge that I have a very low tolerance for idiots. I also run by the rule of you f**k it, you fix it - when I am paying for a service (of any description) I buy on quality (not price) and I expect whatever it is to be done right. Sorry, end rant..... Glad to hear it wasn't as bad as it sounded - haha!

Wazza07 3 Report post Posted March 30, 2009 (edited) got some prices for the screen today , boy i am glad its a insurance job $1400 just for a green screen , a bit less for a clear one. Trade is $1400 + GST for a genuine clear and $400 + for a new sealing rubber. I think thats pretty good for a fairly rare 36yr old car. The screen is ex Germany and it arrives tomorrow. Thats just over a week since ordering, German efficiency eh. Edited March 30, 2009 by 3.0CSI
