Keys locked in boot

Recommended Posts

My friend has a 2000 740i and has locked his keys in the boot. I understand you can drill somewhere behind the number plate to get access to the boot. Anyone know more specifics of just where you drill and what you do after you have drilled a hole?

The car would have been delivered with 4 x keys:

2 x master

1 x valet

1 x emergency

Does your friend know where the other keys are?

Order a new key fom the dealers by chassis# and wait 10-14 days or break a tail light

is the whole car locked up too?If not it may be possible to gain access via the ski port in the boot(if the E38 has them)
