Old_Skool_Bmw 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2009 Wow, thanks for all the posts.. Yes it was hard waiting for so long But i knew the wait would be worth it. There are still a lot of things I would like to improve on/fix on the M3 but it will still take a long time yet to get it complete. When I get the scanner working I'll get the dyno plot posted up too. Think I have a fueling issue to sort.. Went through $50 of 98, so about 30Lts, in 80km's and i suspect it's dumping too much fuel (thanks Ian for helping me with some Q's:) ) Would this need to be sorted by a mechanic or a further dyno tune?? CamB 48 Report post Posted May 13, 2009 (edited) You should get it checked by someone who can plug into the Motec and can drive it around with a wideband oxygen sensor connected - measure the air fuel ratio (so you will know if its rich) and to check / troubleshoot why. For instance, it may be that the part throttle isn't well tuned, the temperature sender is telling the Motec its still in warmup mode, or a number of other things (eg fuel pressure problem). Don't drive it too much running excessively rich - its not good for a new engine. Edited May 13, 2009 by CamB

Old_Skool_Bmw 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2009 just got the email before.. Thanks. going to take the pictures with me so the mechanic has something to work off. Looks really nice with the resonators, hope mine come up looking that good. Laurence
Hi-Tek 3 Report post Posted May 18, 2009 No worries dude, have a look at all the pics I've sent you as you can see the places my fabricator cut and welded the old system. Make sure he welds the two resonators together also to stop any vibrating.
Old_Skool_Bmw 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2009 No worries dude, have a look at all the pics I've sent you as you can see the places my fabricator cut and welded the old system. Make sure he welds the two resonators together also to stop any vibrating. Has been a busy 3 weeks lately. Just finished some important rust repairs on the bulkhead, caused by historic accident damage. Turned out to be a major fix but has been sorted now. M3 was dropped in to the mechanics today to fit the new resonators in the exhaust. Unfortunately 103.9dB at 4000rpm was too loud for the certifier Also having a small re-tune done as the engine is running a little too rich atm. Pics to come soon. Old_Skool_Bmw 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 nice work, 3 years is a long time any plans for a RHD conversion? No, not at this stage. I priced it up a short while ago but would be looking at between $10,000 - $15,000 for the conversion. Laurence
