Suppose I should share

Well, I've gone out and got a 1990 E30 318i. Pretty good condition but we are doing alot of work on it this weekend...and at some point also going to do a manual swap. (in the next month I hope) But got a pretty good deal and it'll be fun to work on...so here is some pics for ya'll. :D:D

Could do with a good clean and polish, but that'll all be done this weekend. So thats it for now :D

anyways nice looking ride, im down with the bling rims y0 tite.

plenty of trunk space for cones in this baby! plus, its a four door, so grant can stick his head out the window and yell at unexpecting teenagers... :P

haha tim we half way through....just need a torx socket to get the gearbox off then just need to start bolting stuff back together..any ideas on where to get one?

Bad news Gus you will need 3 different size Torx sockets.There are two different sizes holding the gearbox to the block and another size for the starter.

PS. I still have the gear stick boot and radiator shroud at my place.

i knew about 2....does the starter have to come off? gear stick boot and radiator shroud can be gotten another time....got everything else off just need the box off now

starter has to come out the gearbox yeah. Not off though - it may be diff though? Thats why we got the other one.

Yeah I think it does.The starter bolts go right through the bell housing

got a set of torx sockets for $40 from repco henderson.....they quite nice....no real probs getting the auto out...just need a couple of new parts and start putting stuff back in tomorrow. quite an interesting little excercise!
