Help with private investigating

I am trying to find the new address of a debtor so that I can take them to court, my useless debt collector has just told me that its not their job to track down debtors when they move house. BLOODY USELESS!

So I am left to either hire a private investigator or dig her up myself.

So far I have tried - White Pages, Facebook (which she is on and so is her daughter, so have tried adding her daughter, fingers crossed she takes the bait). I have googled her name and her childrens names and have come to a dead end.

I noticed if you are an landlord and you are taking a past tenant to court for outstanding rent Dept. Building and Housing have a form you can fill out and they will send you any info on their new whereabouts, I kinda need something similar.

I know this woman has homes in Huntly she rents out and has moved from Flat Bush to Hamilton. She is an African immigrant.

Edit: Just figured somebody on here might have had the same thing in the past and can point me in the right direction. Ive never been in a court room before.

I should probably also add, I have her and her daughters cell numbers (haven't tried daughter yet) but she is not answering her phone, I have blocked my id and tried from multiple locations so as she doesn't know whos calling etc)

It was never listed. She was a sole trader.

I had her paying it off $50/week, it then reduced to $30/week, then she moved to Hamilton saying she would send her new details, she didnt and all payments stopped a month ago.

She started a denim store at Pakuranga Town Centre called Denim ID, it was an epic fail with only 16 sales over the christmas period. She shut down and sold her stock on TradeMe at cost price.

I've passed on a fair bit of info to Shelley. Looking forward to see if any of them are hot leads.

So far I've got:

Address of property owned in Huntly

Previous Residential Address in Hamilton

Landlords name and address for above

Former business partners names and address and ph number

Currently trying to dig up previous Auckland address

Its amazing what you can find out with free, publicly available information.

Some of which did come from the companies register which Ollie mentioned. In fact, the Ministry for Economic Development group of websites contains a plethora of info on people.

Add in property records, Google, Facebook, phonebooks, etc and a bit of detective work and there you are.

No I'm not a stalker Riely - lol. But I have been owed money more than once, and that's a great motivator to learn where to look.

it is supprising about what people can find out about you, esp now with websites like facebook and bebo are around.

if they cant find everything about you on those sites, it gives them a good starting point. esp if they know what they are looking for, and how to use that information to find others.

a tip for people who want to keep their details safe.

burn all bank statements,power bills, anything that has your personal information on it. dont put it into the rubbish and shreading it wont help

Somebody I have prodded today has notified my debtor I am digging her up, she randomly contacted me this evening (after no word from her for over a month) apologizing and we have now made a new arrangement to get around going to court. (I personally don't want to have to deal with court when the payments are only going to be the same if not less due to court fees be subtracted from it)

Thanks for all your help, one of the leads must have got back to her.

Big ups to Bimmersport! Lets just see if she sticks to our new payment schedule! She said she is going to email through her new address and contact details. Fingers crossed she is telling the truth this time.

The fact she randomly called me is a good turn.

Edit: And Graham I think you should look at a possible part time PI job. Also thanks to Glenn for the phone call, I will keep your contact on file in case I have further problems with her.
