Yep belonged to a friend of a BS member old thread

In 2 minds about it... nay, I'd have it: it's a 540 manual

Good things.

540.

6 speed manual.

e39!!

Rims. (maybe a bit bigger?)

Bad things.

Colour.

Leather Colour.

Bumper.

No offence Simon. Your car is a more uhhh manly shade of purple.

Oh well. Guess it's different.

I reckon the leather colour wouldn't look so bad if the actual car was like white?

My 2c.

IMO that is hot!

Give it a real good clean up and you have one fast, fun, unique and eye catching (prob in a bad way) car.

[edit] and Style 5's or E39 M5 rims

It needs a proper clean, the bumpers (which look like poor replicas) to be properly painted and fitted and a change of interior.

Then perhaps it would be worth the money, but the silver one down South was in much better condition than this and it went for not much more than 10k

With an odd colour combination like this it needs to look mint, but it looks awful.

Guest Simon*

Admittedly it looks like someone vomited up their ribena inside, and the bumper job is nasty BUT it is a 540i6, and if you can't afford an E39 M5 but would like to drive your V8 like a man then it's worth consideration.

All those issues are cosmetic. Thanks Em I still prefer my purple too!

My 2c :D

Incidentally I parked next to a hot 760 on 20" dished rims last night in my friend's underground carpark and it was the same colour as mine. Will try and get piccies of them next time :)

Man ...what have they done to it??!?

I agree - I have know that car for a while and i still cant get around the interior.

If anyone is interested - to get that car to my standard you would be looking at:

Ball joints - rear $400?

Front sway Bar / bushings - $400?

Good cut and polish - alot of scratches - $200?

Interior leather - re colour/touch up - $600?

CD changer not working - ??

Instrument cluster - pixels dead - $900

Tranny flush - $350?

Radiator / WP / thermostat - $1200?

MAF - $450?
