Quinn 1 Report post Posted July 20, 2009 Hey man, welcome! I think a 4g would be awesome, as long as its not a rota I'm a fan of conversions. Be warned it will be a nightmare unless you completely strip all the factory electrics out and start again. You will be faced with japanese vs german every step of the way so take your budget and double it. Good luck!
bravo 35 Report post Posted July 20, 2009 So far 2 votes BMW, One to Nissan, and one to the Mitsi. I think you can see the pattern - its your car, do what YOU want as everyone has an opinion. RB's have been done before, so if you want japanese and want to borrow from other's experiences do an RB or SR, or Toyota JZ or UZ, or mazda 12A or 13B conversion. If you want to do something different do the mitsi. Plenty of cool BMW power options too - turbo, supercharge, v8 options abound.
APT 194 Report post Posted July 20, 2009 Isnt someone on here doing a 4g63 conversion anyway ? im pretty sure i saw it up, I say F20c

DRTDVL 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2009 Hmmm... Peugeot Engine in an E30? Welcome! didn't say anything about a pug engine... i'm assuming you would still want rwd so that rules out most pug engines... unless your rear mounted it... i was thinking more along the lines of a straight 6 or v6 thats super and turbo charged... think s4 delta
shanew 1 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 Well after having a 86 4dr lined up it got sold on me but thats ok I picked up a 1987 coupe with 170kms on it the gearbox will only go into reverse but that doesnt worry me. ill get some photos up once I get some battery's for the camera, so far the interior is stripped the carpet is a write off as it was soaking wet and smelt awful. ill make a project thread soon too Shane
