Another Heater Resistor Question...

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Was wondering if anyone out there knew the definate answer to the following:

Have a 94 NZ New E36 Coupe with analogue heater controls. Noticed recently the fan only works on speed 1, 3 and 4. Setting 1 and 2 have the same output, but occasionally, if left on 2, it comes to life and after a few minutes driving and works as normal until I change to another speed.

My guess is the resistor is starting to go. I've been told there are two types - one for analogue and one for the digital climate control.

Dealer asked me to pull the resistor out and check which one. Before I tackle that, anyone had to replace theirs?
