hybrid 1044 Report post Posted March 2, 2011 Sound is still the same .. however I didnt really get a chance to ramp up the RPM too much in rush hour traffic. Tried it a couple of times and it sounds mint.

Forrest 35 Report post Posted March 2, 2011 Looking awesome Josh. Putting it out there, I think the best part about the car is not the s50 or the wank suspension or brakes etc, it is how well it is all executed and how the attention to detail has been nailed everywhere. Plus to me, the road/nearly race car theme is what I love about E30's like this and is the tangent I have followed with my own. Awesome stuff.
hybrid 1044 Report post Posted March 2, 2011 Cheers, Yeah its been a lot of work and a lot of support from the likes of Ray/HellBM, olliem, my fabricator Brendan Dunkar and of corse Brendon Spain for working on this thing with me and coming up with alot of the wiring solutions etc etc just to name a few. With out these people it wouldnt exist. The thing with it is not to rush it, even if for me it means saving a little bit more money and buying the best thing for the job. Will have another update over the weekend around the touch screen laptimer system / carputer. that can be removed to bring the car out of track spec to stock 'road' interior

hybrid 1044 Report post Posted March 3, 2011 How many Hz is the GPS receiver? How much did the screen cost? Do Want. Cost was around $350 landed for the monitor .. on the pricey side but lots of functionality including ODBII and other sensor logging features. Only 1hz at this point .. just looking for a good 5 or 10hz replacement ..
hybrid 1044 Report post Posted March 6, 2011 Laptimer installed. I can remove the whole system and replace the clock to bring the interior back to stock when the car isnt in 'track spec' Ball attachement to the stereo. some minor dremel action to get the hardware to fit .. but no issues really. VESA 75 mount with ball attachement which connects to the socket arm through the clock space to the stereo ball mount. Finished with screen off. Lots of clearence even when the car is shifted to reverse. Windows RaceChrono software The screen mounted is as solid as anything on the car and stands up to vibrations really well which is what I was expecting Very happy with the results.
