Window tint on rear lights?

Recommended Posts

Getting the tint to stick would be a real problem, not to mention moisture and heat from the bulbs, I would say 100% failure and looking cheap and crappy would be worse.

Nothing stopping you picking up some second hand ones and experimenting I guess.

Use a good quality tint that is durable and use a heat gun to apply it ... if it is applied well it can look mint ... my brother used to do it for people .... but how legal it is now i don't know ...

from a WOF point of veiw,

lens must not be altered in anyway. the only around this is to buy smoked lens it self. also the lights need to be visable a minimum of 100m aswell they need a reflector that is visable.

theres always the option of buying smoked lights, but they can sometimes cost you $$$, i myself couldnt justify spending heaps on a cosmetic mod like that. Ive heard of a spray on tint, which some people have used. Hav a look on US forums eg dtmpower.net, im sure quite a few have smoked their lights that way.

I used a spray tint in the UK too. Just bought it from Halfords, which is the equivalent of Repco.

Here's the process that a mate of mine did....

I hope you can see it without having to log on or anything.

Here's the rear of my 750....

no facelift lights wont fit in a touring (i assume ur touring isnt facelift)

cos if u look at a face lift light its higher and it has a angled bit

take a closer look at this pic in comparison to your car
