not idling and backfiring

Hey guys, started my bmw today and it idled for like 2 seconds then died, so i started it again and reved it and when it hit about 2000 rpm it backfired then again at 2500 and then at 3000 and so on. anyone knw what might be wrong with it? it also doesnt idle and just dies, thinking it might have somthing to do with the T.P.S, any ideas?

What have you actually checked ?? these guessing games are hard to diagnose on a key board. Do you have any skills or proper tools ?

Therez a few cracks in the intake piping, so what would that be making it do? back firing or not idling

also check the dizzy cap and rotor for moisture or worn out etc

Take the intake boot off and tape it up. and if that fixes the problem, buy a new one.

 Cracked pipe/boot will cause poor idle, stalling, and will backfire if you press the accelerator hard

mine backfired when i reach 3k rpm. and rough idle when my camshaft sensor was shot. although this is in the m50 though dunno if it applies to your car.
