Thats pretty cool! It doesn't have a phone in it though, and for the highest spec it is similarly priced to the highest spec iPhone here in NZ.

Pretty expensive PDA I would have thought.

But I think its Badass. Would have one in a heartbeat.

Personally it's not exactly original, little bit like recycling the iphone, but i'm probably biased as I can't find a need for such a device.

There was a much better dual screen thing from Microsoft.

Here it is. Has a camera etc.

I think it's unfair to compare it to an iphone or PDA. It's closer to a netbook, in which case it's fairly competitively priced. Sure it's low-end netbook specs, but its fairly high on features.

I'd consider one if it had more storage space, or usb to external ability.

Just found out we are getting one for "testing"

Guess who gets to do the testing :P

You must do a write up on what you thought of it.

Would be interesting to hear from a first hand account on what it is like.

Guest Simon*

Wi-Fi models shipping in late March.

3G models shipping in April.

Doesn't even come with wi-fi first up? Surprising

No multitasking, so its pretty much useless IMHO. What is the point of having a tablet (which I guess is meant to replace a notebook) if you can only run one application at once. Doesn't seem to offer much more functionality than an iPod Touch or iPhone.

Basically a giant iPhone without the phone ....

As bizzar and pointless of a gadget as it maybe it is still cool for some odd reason and i don't even own an iPhone haha ..

But this is the thing with Apple - they always release their products in stages - they always take away or leave out certain specifications just so they can release another version with it. It gives them the ability to sell the same product multiple times !!

Yeah after reading more about them the MS version looks far more appealing to me.

The dual screens will mean multi-tasking. Camera. Better integration with office computers and software (mostly PC's).

And the best part of all. You don't have to wear ball crushing tight jeans and hang out in a Ponsonby Cafe'. :P

+1, If it had USB it would be even better.

I have - Blackberry,Work Desktop,Home Desktop,Work Laptop for Travelling.

Can't see where this would fit in, Has a few good functions but is missing a few such as USB etc IMO.

Be interesting to see how they take off

This would make lecture notes so damned easy

My TC1100, has "Microsoft Journal" which gives you a lined pad to write on... it's good so you can write and draw quickly.

However the battery recently carked it.. :(

Its not being marketed to replace your laptop or phone.

We are pushing them in the education market more than home users.
