gjdavis 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2010 Hey Guys, Recently brought a freshly imported e46 320i sedan and its due for a service. Just wondering if anyone can recommend a decent place on the North Shore where we can get it done. I read through the stickied thread 'BMW parts and service places' but the only place on there is Bella Motors, we took our e36 there a few times and they're too expensive for us. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Justin

I read through the stickied thread 'BMW parts and service places' but the only place on there is Bella Motors, we took our e36 there a few times and they're too expensive for us. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Justin What are your expectations regarding cost ? Most independants would charge between $250 & $300 to carry out a proper service on your E46 320 + any items that may require attention. If you expect lower costs for this work, it wont be getting done correctly. You will get a cheaper service from some of the "budget" type service centers, however it wont be done correctly and its doubtful that they will have the gear to check the control units or reset your service lights. They also wont have the experience to look for trouble areas and give you the proper, informed advice a specialist will give you. In the long term, if you pay a little more to have it done by someone with experience, listen, and take their advice regarding servicing and preventative maintenance and you will get more long term enjoyment from your vehicle. Being a "fresh" import, there is probably a bit of catch up on previous servicing requirements that have never been carried out...ie: Coolant, brake fluid, pollen filter, diff oil and gearbox oil. My advice would be... go to a specialist and don't be $$$ driven Edited March 11, 2010 by *Glenn*

JaseNZ 53 Report post Posted March 11, 2010 I agree with Glenn 100% , My 325i is fresh off the boat and is booked in next week for Coolant flush and oil and filter, New cabin filter as well and trans and diff. Also a real good check over from top to toe, cost is around the $600 mark but i would rather pay that in preventative maintenance than 2k plus if something drastic goes wrong. Agree with all your points we don't want to be cutting any corners! Thanks Glenn.

Thanks guys I've always taken all my euro stuff to K.G McLeod in Waverley. He's a gun up there (Alan) he can tell you what the fault is by hearing it or within minutes of you arriving, how much it will roughly cost and how long. They are also very cheap. Moto 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2010 Just a quick note I went to Bravarian mototrs I found them very resonable in regards to price, Saved $300 bucks having my steering wheel air bag sensor done. But I had my rocket covers done there and when I went back 6-8 months later for a service the first thing I was told was my rocket covers needed replacing?? Hummm that made me think.....
