Ben 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2010 pedal, master and slave cylinder with hydraulic lines, clutch, flywheel, release bearing, gear box and may also need the cross member and driveshaft. I havent done a manual conv. on a bmw before but if they are similar to a nissan youll need to wire up the inhibitor switch and sort the reverse light switch aswell. If Ive missed anything im sure another member will fill in the blanks

Silver Fox 43 Report post Posted May 19, 2010 Yeah, you need the pedalbox, or just the bolt with the clutch and brake pedals on it, easiest just to change the bolt and pedals rather than take the whole box out. Master and slave cylinders with resevoir and clutch lines, gearbox with linkage on the back and the support arm, either the ali one or the pressed plate, depending on how old the box is. Gear stick driveshaft and gearbox support bracket make up the rest, also may have to lok at matching a diff with the right ratio, autos and manuals have different gear ratios. Then just sort the auto inhibitor, join 2 wires together, plug in the reverse lights and off you go. Make sure you get the right box as well, they are different between the 318s and 320s. Ben 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2010 (edited) Make sure you get the right box as well, they are different between the 318s and 320s. Really? I thought 316i, 318i, 320i use the same and 325i, 328i and m3 share the same Owners manual says 325i has different gbox ratios to the smaller engines which share their own set of ratios. Can anyone share the facts? Edited May 19, 2010 by Ben

Unlike e30s people just dont have them lying around. If you can get one for $1k I'd grab it-I doubt if you'll find one cheaper. (And then add $600+) for the instal Edited May 19, 2010 by 1rotty
