Something people will understand and automatically associate with what your selling (BMW performance parts).

What kind of parts are you talking?

Serious, expensive stuff like mufflers, cam shafts, airboxes, springs, shocks, brakes.

Or smaller things like steering wheels, lips, kits, number plate surrounds, gear knobs etc.

If it was me I'd call it something super simple like bmwperformance.co.nz (sh*t name, but you get what I'm saying)

No offence, but when I hear scnell spec racing I have no idea what your selling. It could be an F1 team or a honda suspension manufacturer.

ScnellBM kind of sounds like a car yard to me.

Umm, so far I've got a variety of things coming over here from the USA. From Body Kits and spoilers. Mirrors. Car covers, floor mats. Heaps of stuff.

I just got a deal for wind deflectors for convertible Bmw's, which no one has here so that will do good.

Also, got the buffer waxers and radar detectors.

Along with heaps of other stuff that i can't put in here theres just too much of it. I've got about 10-15 pages of stock lists to bring in to start up.

But Ill have all of it thats available to me on the site for pre order. etc.

On the performance side, I'll have exhuast systems, performance ignition systems, performance intakes, suspension and performance software ( I think is useless when we have people like Gavin but it sells over here to the people who can't afford a proper dyno tune. Also, god carbon brake pads, brake sets, for pretty much every BMW.

Point of it all is I don't think that the expensive M3-M5 stuff will sell in this market as good as the stuff like brake pads.

I don't really think its worth bringing it the real real good exhuast systems for the M cars like Miltek, Agency, Borla etc. All cost around 2k+ USD so forget the exchange rate I'll be trying to sell exhuast sytems worth more than most E30's.

I wanna stock the good stuff no one else has, but also stuff you guys on here will want, I know there are some guys who can afford huge $$$ for the big expensive stuff but Ill have that always on pre order or request cause I can barely afford to set this up with the stock so Im not spending all my coin on bringing in 4 digit exhuast systems.

Went a bit over the top there but yea I see what your saying with the name. I gotta make sure i don't copy other people round the world with it too.

Keep the suggestions coming cause I need em!!!

Thanks

Not those if your only doing bmw parts.. Nothing worse than hitting a website claiming a wide range products from the implications of the company name only to find they are a brand specialist..

Merged them in. As the brand image is really really important. As if this gets big I wanna have a brand image i can use on T-Shrits, stickers. So, I'm thinking ahead here. I don't want just a name. I want that name to represent something.

When we think of a company or brand we think of their logo/brand image so I wanna get this right from the start.

Heres my peice of crap first try. If anyone is really good at this. I like the basic look of it so if anyone is keen at helping out =)

I love SchnellSpec but I think if i put in BMW Performance Parts in the logo too it will be just as relevant as the actual name.

Like it?

( Yea i know. The wrap where BMW usually is looks sh*t, I couldn't get it right and got bored of trying to get it perfect. Just a concept on the layout for now =)

Does it bother you that "SS" has a few negative connotations when associated with Germany? (Nazis etc)

Just a thought if you'd like to sell stuff to Jewish car enthusiasts.

As long as you're careful about how the SS is stylised I dont see a problem particularly with the associated wording.

Nice first effort. Like.

Yeah i agree.

I thought, SchnellSpec could be the brand name but when we think of a company or brand we think of the logo and thats why i put BMW PERFOMRANCE PARTS in the logo. So People think of that in the logo.

SchnellSpec is just a name that sounds cool and is easy to remember for the website and the TradeMe Username instead of BMperformance.co.nz thats really long and would look crap on a t shirt and isn't a brand image.

Love the input its helping heaps. =D Thanks all!!!

have to put my 2 cents in.

One: I know the logo is just a light idea but myself [17] cant see this has anything to do with cars so i wouldn't stop and look at it. But yea you could make that idea look pretty cool by thinking out of the box.

I once drew out a logo for my step father having CC as 2 wheels doing a burn out. you could try this with the SS.

The BMW PERFOMRANCE PARTS but looks a bit funny as its not the right shape.

And yea just use a nicer font for the SS.

If i could use photo shop i would try make you up something.

Just my 2cents.

Yea im trying to do a neater version I was just putting that up for the basic layout thing.

The thing is if you saw the mercedes star or the vw badge you could think of heaps of things. The G-Power logo is just G-Power. I thought the BMW logo would make it pretty obvious that its about BMW's.

Yea that logo i did before was just a basic layout thing.

Im trying to get the bmw performance parts thingy the right shape but you atleast get the idea of what it should be like =)

Thanks for the input.

So you guys thing Gehen Spec sounds better?

In today's marketplace, I would be carving out a niche on either product (like kits, panels) or model e30 etc. Too many people try to be all things to all players and therefore miss the mark due to shallow product range and trying to cover too many bases.

With this in mind, I think you should identify exactly what you are targetting whether it be panel or car model specific and the brand should reflect exactly that ... ie BMW Kits or BMW e30 Performance Parts etc

The name "schnellspec" would mean to me, things to make your car go fast like add-on turbos or replacement carbs or fast cams. I wouldn't identify panels or kits as being "schnell". I see them more as image products.

Just my 5c worth but a very experienced 5c worth :)
