OLLIE 26 Report post Posted July 20, 2010 Thanks to Brian (Cosmos) we are going to produce some plate surrounds to simulate the longer euro plates. This is our way of saying "f**k you" to plates.co.nz and providing you guys with a way to achieve a euro plate look without breaking the law or the bank. The surrounds clip onto standard rego plates but are sized longer to fill the space on european cars. We'll be selling them at $25 or $30 TBC for a set including postage .... that's a much better option than forking out 500 bucks or whatever plates.co.nz charge for euro plates Before we go ahead and make them it's up to you guys to decide what they look like, I've come up with some design options and would like you to VOTE! If you can't decide on one, you can choose more than one, we might end up making 2 variations, but don't get carried away ... comments welcome ... Guest Simon* Report post Posted July 20, 2010 I like the ///M stripes but don't like the "BS" on it. At a glance, and to all and sundry it's just going to read BULLSHIT
Guest Simon* Report post Posted July 20, 2010 So I vote "C" - sans BS please

Guest Simon* Report post Posted July 20, 2010 you make a good point ... would you change it to "NZ" or "M" or remove the letters altogether? Probably drop it altogether. "M" is not appropriate I reckon and "NZ" would look out of place. I suppose a roundel is out of the question
3 SERIES 93 Report post Posted July 20, 2010 (edited) you make a good point ... would you change it to "NZ" or "M" or remove the letters altogether? If we're talking about 'C' then remove the BS and increase the /// stripes to a similar size as the fern logo IMO. Edit: If the plate frame chosen has Bimmersport - New Zealands Online BMW Community then I think its fitting to have the NZ Stars & Fern either side. I wouldnt mind seeing the text normal rather than italic even thou it is in the general Bimmersport logo. Edited July 20, 2010 by 3 SERIES
Mark 178 Report post Posted July 20, 2010 Is it wrong that I hate all the lame patriotism of the NZ logo / silver fern? Where's the German plate replica option Otherwise I choose C without the "BS" lettering and a bigger M stripe logo.
Guest Simon* Report post Posted July 20, 2010 Is it wrong that I hate all the lame patriotism of the NZ logo / silver fern? Agree. The 4 stars and Fern are a bit lame unfortunately
Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted July 20, 2010 Think C but ditch the BS on the side for something else.

E30 325i Rag-Top 2956 Report post Posted July 21, 2010 (edited) Great idea. Option C without the BS and bigger M stripes if possible. Can I choose one with different numbers and letters on it, my rego isn't AB7569? Put me down for a set of whatever is decided upon unless it has some German flag or D on it, in which case you can FRO !
