andrewm 236 Report post Posted August 14, 2010 Been on there a while, dont imagine it will sell at that price as the car on its own is probably worth 17k (its a 2000 reg) and the supercharger wont add much value for fear the car has been abused. deeveus 81 Report post Posted August 14, 2010 (edited) Yeah been on there quite a while, I think at the time I seen it last it was a little more pricey still for around that money you can get yourself a factory M5 that will do the job originally and be easier to sell once the time comes to move it. oscar90 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2010 yeah, basicly what Clinton has said. would rather stretch for a M5 if I was spending that much already
Apex 693 Report post Posted August 15, 2010 It’s Automatic. It has an open diff. It has narrow 17" wheels. It is a crapanese import. Soft suspension. Its ten years old. Superchargers attached to a engine designed to be N/A are a ticking time bomb IMHO. It’s not an M5. You can buy a M5 for $29,000.

[email protected] 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2010 I agree Graham. 29k is too much for one of those now, unless it was a 2003 with half those ks. Plus... centrifugal superchargers are pretty lousy units.

Why spend 29k on a engine that is putting out way more power than it's designed to coupled with the rest of the drivetrain e.t.c when you can buy the real deal? Pulling up outside the petrol station and saying, yeah, it's a M5 as a pose to a 540i supercharged... The M5 sounds better to this kid. M5V8 337 Report post Posted August 17, 2010 You can buy a M5 for $29,000. Maybe you could buy a rough high km M5 for 29k .... nice low km examples are becoming harder and harder to find. I have fielded 3 random phone calls this year from people wanting to buy my car. Which reminds me, how do I stop random's getting my number?
Apex 693 Report post Posted August 17, 2010 That is true, 20-30k will buy you a pre facelift M5 with higher kilometres, still better than that thing above IMO.

deeveus 81 Report post Posted August 18, 2010 change your number plate to something normal, most people wont notice its an m5 Ha yeah, you can lie to everyone else on the road but not to yourself lol. The trained eye that will be the majority of people that will look at this car (if that's what your after) will know straight away it's not a M5. philwalter 30 Report post Posted August 18, 2010 I drove a mint facelift E39 M5 several months ago in Le Mans Blue when I was looking before I bought the M3. This one wasn't advertised but they are around if you put enough feelers out. Had all the desirable options including fold down rear seats, BMW FSH, NZ New and it was a 2003. Asking price was low $30's. It was perfect and I'd driven a lot to compare against. If the M3 hadn't come along I would have bought it.
