Surge 1 Report post Posted April 1, 2007 I run a very busy car grooming business that specialises in dealership grooming, not many public clients - too much trouble chasing up public accounts! Dad had a mobile operation for a while, I ended up learning how to do it then moved into a place that had a very similar setup to what I have now, got sick of working for someone - Started up this one. Running very well, Haven't had time to finish the signwriting on the front of the building thats been waiting to be completed since the start of when I arrived 3 months ago! I have UE (ncea 1,2,3) and looking to make some coin, and pick up a house and hopefully buy up a few M3's before moving onto Uni to study business/geology. The appeal of getting to drive some nice cars is quickly outweighed by the appeal of making some good money. We have ended up through word of mouth almost exclusively grooming the best yards resulting a copious amount of e46's, new audis, land rovers, etc... Keeps me on my toes! Gus 5 Report post Posted April 1, 2007 holy reviving old threads! im almost done with my degree (a whopping 2 hours a week) a BCom majoring in marketing/management. am currently working at Hedgehog Bikes in Takapuna..pretty lame but pays for e30 parts and i get cheap bike stuff. still do the occasional e30 wreck / selling e30/bike bits. i am looking round for 'real' jobs to move into, not a lot has appealed too much yet, but keen to get something with experience in marketing/sales etc...so if anyone has contacts let me know! may even go back and bike courier for 6 months if a job im going for comes through. always interesting seeing what people do/qualified etc

Jedski 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2007 (edited) Still in liquor industry, worked through a wine retailing background (family is in the wine trade) then to barwork whilst at uni. I stretched my studies out and worked an average of 30 hours a week with 2-3 papers in between- i dont know how i did it now. I had a short stint are a bar manager at a wine lounge last year caretaking, currently in marketing in a contracted brand management role. Pretty good work and i have a small group of brands. I'm glad study is done and i graduate from Massey in April with a Bach of business studies with marketing major which is a toe in the door type of qualification i guess. OLLIE 26 Report post Posted April 3, 2007 Who you do you supply out of interest, Ollie?Other than Burnsco and all those retail stores and many boatbuilders and manufacturers I couldn't begin to name names of superyachts or boatbuilders because i don't know, I design the catalogues, advertising and boatshow displays etc... so not involved in sales. Guest Denny Crane Report post Posted April 3, 2007 I'm a founding partner of Crane, Poole & Schmidt. I'm a conservative who firmly believes that gun control is for communists. Often portrayed as extremely unethical, I'm also arrogant and self absorbed. Aside from this, I have excellent skills in media manipulation.

Grant 4 Report post Posted April 3, 2007 I have recently set up my own Project Consultancy (specialising in consulting to holders of large portfolios of assets - predominantly property assets), and have straight away had 4 good long term contracts in place, that see me not having the worry of having to "hunt out the next job". However, it is my aim that by August to only work 4 days a week, in order to spend as much time as possible with the young fella, and allow Brook to go back to work part time (without having to put Ash into daycare). However, as I have so much work on, I can't really see me being able to cut back to only 4 days a week, but at least the mortgage is getting paid, and being your own boss can't be beaten. Cheers Grant
