huff3r 347 Report post Posted December 13, 2010 So I just bought a new E30, with the factory BMW Business RDS stereo in it, but I have a problem. The battery went flat the other day, and now i need the security code to be able to use it. I went into Jeff Gray, but they can only help with vehicles they have sold/serviced. Does anyone know where/how i can find out the stereo code? Also, does anyone have any information on the Business RDS stereos? -How to remove them -Do they have aux in? -Do they have RCA out? Any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers.

They told me to remove the stereo, find out what brand it is, then ring the appropriate company. But i can't remove it, as it didnt come with the removal keys.. E30 factory radio Removal: Two tabs either side - flick them open & find an allen key to loosen, once all four are loosened - the unit will slide out
martyyyn 102 Report post Posted December 13, 2010 Paul, Try searching the web for the code. You wont get the exact code but when I needed this for my Focus I found someone had written an application which gave you the security code when you entered the serial number. I think there was a BMW version as well but I cant remember with any certainty.

*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted December 13, 2010 (edited) If I can have chassis number of the car, radio brand & radio serial number I'll try and see what I can come up with. You will need to get the radio out first. Edited December 13, 2010 by *Glenn*
