what to do with this 94 NZ new M3

Recommended Posts

Ti is small car for your family .conveted a M touring as Alpina did.and your wife drive it mad.

ti ,sedan , touring and coupe all have the same seat size and leg room etc , juts different boots etc.

anyway have other cars to use for the family .

probably just going to part the car out or sell it as it is .

If repairable, depending on how much you got it for, repair it.

Or part it out.

E36 wagon would be good, certainly a project I'd keep tabs on here, but resale? Dunno...

Please don't Ti it - am I the only one here that doesn't like compacts? Simply cannot stand them, they look like child versions of the coupe - "one day when I grow up, I'm gonna be a - !"

Whats the size difference between the M42 and M3 radiator?

Expansion tank on the side of the M42 rad could free up a bit of space

Battery can always go into the boot ( hairdryer / curler space)

this is the donar car ,

all panels repaired already (managed to get most panels it needed in teh correct colour)

just putting through compliance now.

just should be wof'ed and reg by tuesday.

and in for some paint on the fornt bumper and front panel and rr quarter next week

glen do you see any electrical issues.

with m3 cluster fitting , ews ?? , abs lights , asc etc

donar m3 is non ews.

1998 318ti auto has ews and asc etc

also will need a e30 medium case diff (lsd) axles??rear hub bearings?? is this correct.

will e36 m3 rear brakes bolt up to the ti arms? or use 328i rear ones etc??

can i use the m3 rear shocks , but maybe need some other rear springs to get the correct height

I 'm not sure...maybe a wiring loom swap with the cluster.. ASC isn't a problem.. do a bit more research on the other forum. I know the pin config is different on the Ti's for the cluster... been there

Might pay to have a read through my build threads Brent. Using a M3 engine will be quite different in alot of respect but most of the other stuff will be the same. I can help out and talk some of it through though. You might have quite a few different issues than I had though. Hairdressers cars are much more complicated than the average crap E36 :P ... you still coming tomorrow ??

yes though of that , could use a nz spec 325i 328i rad with the tank on the left , or a jap spec 325i 328i rad with the seperate tank mounted on the right side to the back of the radiator

Battery can always go into the boot ( hairdryer / curler space)

yea thought of that , not a lot of room in the boot of these .

maybe 2 small motorbike batterys in each corner pocket

not alot of room where the tools are

most of the websites are refering to lhd cars

yes been reading a bit , but most are different set ups to what i have i here.

main thing i see is thats its a 94 engine setup into a 1998 car.

so will have less going into more??

The body systems (ECU'S) are seperate to the drive systems. You only have to worry about DME, EGS & ABS... ASC is not a problem unless the M3 has ASC
