You will need the specific 6 speed box for the E39 540i... they are very rare and you will need to source it from either the States or Germany. You will also need to find someone who is able to sort out the electronics side of things. (Re-programming the car to accept the manual box basically). Best option would be buy an M5 for dirt cheap from back home (UK) and have it shipped over. Either that or get myself an RS6 Avant and ship it over.
