The aim for now is to have a clean looking sub and amp in the boot, similar to this

So far I have routed the power from the battery to the boot and the trigger cable from the head unit to the boot.

This is my blank canvas.

Next ill be mocking up an enclosure...stay tuned.

Spend a few hours fitting the panel and supports.

Last few steps.

Modified the old terminals for my DVC Sub.

Attached the supports. These are so it can sit hard up against the bulkhead. It sits very snug at the moment and will only get better when I carpet it.

Last steps are to run the RCAs from the headunit, carpet the enlcosure and attach it to the vehicle.

Carpet went on last night. Spent a couple of hours running the RCAs as well as installing the sub&amp.

Should have it running tomorrow. Ill tidy everything up too, put my back seats back in

i know your basically finished, or have finished and not posted but.......... how about cutting a hole for the amp and mounting it from the back? that way all the wires are hidden away but it still can be seen from the front. Just a thought.

re blk320i: I know what you mean, but as you can see from the pics the wires would totally get in the way and it would also cover the majority of the vent areas (it's fan cooled) Plus, you can't see the wires unless you get in the boot

After playing with the settings I can tell 500w is a stupid amount of power

Not sure I like the exposed power and earth wiring just by the amp. They're a bitch to get tidy on the Boston amps because some sheaths just don't fit into the hole. Suggest a small length of cheap heatshrink just to cover the exposed wire entering the terminal housing.

Otherwise glad you're happy, looks like a top result.

yea, I had to actually shave a few sheaths off for it to fit neatly. They are in there properly, It's only exposing the wire because they are on an angle. I might steal some of my flat mates shrink tubing.

They actually sound really good now the bass is being sent to the woofer.

are you running front tweeters? vocals seem pretty clear. having good audio in car is bittersweet. Awesome daily driving, but cant put it into your living room after spending all that money

nope, just the tweeters on those 2-way speakers. I also have some shitty fusions in the foot wells but they do almost nothing. The panasonics do a really good job when the head unit isn't trying to drive them too hard to produce bass.

Just hooked up my new head unit. The JVC KD-R826BT http://www.jvc.co.nz/KD-R826BT.html

Makes all the difference in the world. Going from simple bass and treble adjustment to 5v pre-outs high and low pass filters, 3 band EQ with Hz control. iPod connectivity which beats AUX quality hands down. No need to amp my cabin now the head unit has made them sound amazing.
