E30-323ti 66 Report post Posted September 8, 2012 Coming along well. You may find those 7kg rear springs a bit soft (in relation to the front). 'Generally' E36 rear springs are 20% higher rate than the fronts when installed in the stock (inboard) location due to the high motion ratio.

I just went a a bit softer for hillclimbs and club events were the surface is not always flat. Can always change if need be.

Eddie 66 Report post Posted September 18, 2012 I got the car going today with a replacement ecu. Its got basic tune so far. The brakes are a bit touchy, very easy to lock up
Eddie 66 Report post Posted October 8, 2012 Took the car to the SNZ trackday at Taupo on the weekend. It seem to go Ok, the springs are a bit soft for the track but that was ok as I had some road tyres on it anyway. Its got an oil leak from around the bell housing, I think it may be from the flywheel bolts

Eddie 66 Report post Posted January 16, 2013 Yes I have used sr20 pistons. Not the engine in the picture, I just put on the itb's because I got sick of the supercharger whine.

There's something oddly satisfying about seeing an E36 coupe banging through a corner sideways with gravel tyres on Is that your little fella co-driving? Eddie 66 Report post Posted June 30, 2013 Car looks good! Awesome to see your getting your kid involved at such an early age. Im impressed Some of the panels could do with a tidy up, but I thought if he sticks with it we'll get plenty of chances to repaint them haha
