Bit of snow here. Thought I'd chuck some pics up - a pic of the Merc in it's natural stomping ground ha.

How on earth did you park the merc like that without scratching it? Looks like its parked on a pretty big angle?

Jealous. As hell.

Wellington is almost as cold with none of the fun... Friends in South Island have uni cancelled.

Argh.

It's normally harder against the wall than that, by parking it right up the front gives me heaps more room behind it. I've never hit the wall yet, parking sensors FTW.

Haha +1 to parking sensors. Looks like if you drive out on that angle you would destroy the car/garage

Yep, cold up here as well.

Bearing in mind we only get a reasonable fall every 4-5 years, this one is bigger than the last big one in '94.

We are 'bout 1.5km from the mountain base, it does get damn cold but rarely snows.

Woke up to this this morn' and it kept snowing 'til 12.30 today.

The drive way.

The bonnet of the young fellas Hilux, that's 60mm of snow.

So then i decided to go up to our new place. It's 610 metres up the road and closer to the mountain YAY :o

We're about 300 meters above sea level here. I took the Mercedes down to the shop before and whilst the snow was a good foot deep on the road it handled it without issue but when I got to the main roads it was compacted and like a sheet of ice and was almost un-drivable even with it being 4WD - it just kept shifting power to every wheel trying to find grip and I have 4 new tyres. A mate of mine around the road has a Discovery 3 door lifted with massive mudgrips and even it was struggling on the ice. I loved it how my son walked up to one of our cars here with a small shovel trying to get the snow off the cars. Nice.
