GOT the M535i up and running

did the engine swap over the weekend , finshed wiring , fuel system at 12:30am monday morning no exhaust conected or the the cooling system . started it up fired first time (very loud at midnight ) runs well .

next day sorted the radiator etc , fitted exhaust , retorque the head , replaced faulty clutch slave cylinder .

just got to sort out the brakes (new discs ,pads etc) abs ,and brake pad sensors .

swap wheels over ,weld some steel then take it though for a wof.

fitted S/S exhaust sytem ( from one of my parts car ) , sounds quite good .

does 1900rpm at 100km/h in top gear . (will change diff from 3.07 to 3.45 ) should take it to about 2300rpm at 100km/h

original buy $1100 . fixed the ECU for a $10 part , 5 cans of black dye for the leather $60 ,$150 for 15" alloys and tyres , to be replaced with 16" alloys $200 + $175 tyres fitted ,head gasget set $170 , $200 for head to be machined ( bare head was given to me by a guy who i brought the 528i parts car from)and a bunch of valves , rockers and rocker shafts , $160 for rebuild of camshaft from a donar smashed engine that was given to me , interior parts ( door trims , carpet and boot linning etc ) Stainless Steel exhaust from 2 different parts car i had 525i and 528i.

stereo from a old 525i .i had .

$50 for regas of A/C , swap a tail light and $50 for a dashboard and centre console piece .

windscreen from 525i parts car .

fog lights and other tail lights etc from my stock .

newer (possible rebuilt by last owners) old block from 735i parts car .new K&N filter fitted in to the 635i I had by the old owner,radiator from parts car , lots of bulbs ,plastic bits and switches from stock .

brakes to be swapped from stock.

$$ for oil etc .

even first tank was filled from gas emptied from parts cars.

just a bit over $2k all up.((I think?????))

see owning a BMW doesn't have to be expensive !!!!!!

Oh I forgot to metion the long hours doing all the work.

Well done Brent. So which car are you bringing to the Drags?

the e34 most likly , still no wof or reg on the e28 M535i .

so wil try to smoke the clutch again on the hartge .(hope it holds on)
