DrphTa 5 Report post Posted September 16, 2011 Have a whirring sound coming from the passengers side at the front of the block. Have been told it is internal. Anyone have any ideas? My guess would be a lifter grinding the head

hybrid 1043 Report post Posted October 4, 2011 Hmmm Westy had his m62tub44 altenator bearing seize and blow up on him, it sounded like this before it finally did. the tapping/rattleing sound im not sure .. but the clue is when you turn the car off you can hear the distinct churp sound of a seized bearing of some sort. I wouldnt run it anymore until someone looks at it..

*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted October 4, 2011 After hearing all that, I'd be reluctant to start it even one more time. Rocker covers and top timing chain covers need to come off first and have a look.
DrphTa 5 Report post Posted October 5, 2011 Thanks Glenn Does anyone have the drivers side rubber boot like this?
