51mm Strut Housings

Recommended Posts

As in the description, is there any benefit in adding them and if so are they hard to do?

agreed if using factory shocks. 51mm makes your aftermarket range a lot better in both price range and performance

^^^^ Still plenty of series cars running on 45mm struts with the series Koni adjustable shock. Still go round corners plenty well enough.

For a 318 or 320 non modified car then the factory 45mm setup is perfect.

If however you have replaced the engine with a M20B25 then 51mm would be the easiest upgrade to compensate for the extra weight.

Also you may need to consider the likes of clearance for wheels.

I would assume an M20B20 would weigh more or less the same as a B25?

I changed to 51mm struts because I could, and I got them with lowering springs.

Koni adjustable make everything good.

also makes it easy so you can have all your struts made up properly, painted, tidied etc ad then just bang them in, in a few hours.
