*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted January 8, 2012 Dry sump is probably the only way to go.. ask Alex from Carspot. About $10k for the kit I'm told. Guys in the South are using a special ELF 15w40 oil in their S50's. It's a very high Zinc grade oil.. can find out the part code tomorrow. I have supplied it before. CamB 48 Report post Posted January 8, 2012 Didn't the 2nd pickup on the evo engine (s50b32) fix the oil problem?

Silver Fox 43 Report post Posted January 8, 2012 I use an accumulator in my car, holds 8 to 10 secs of oil pressure, never have any problems with starvation now. Got it from Cardwells, around $1000 all fitted with hoses for remote oil filter etc. http://www.cardwells.co.nz/Our_Brands/Sub_.../MenuId/74.aspx
hybrid 1043 Report post Posted January 9, 2012 The s50b32 still has the issue unfortunately. Its only really a problem with slicks and getting into the conditions I stated above. Fixes are: * Windge tray and baffled / gated sump. Wing the sump for more oil. * Accusump as stated by David. I would run a EPC on a road car to control it as the risk of forgetting to switch it on is too great. * Dry sump * s54 sump and oil pickup system. * For the e30 guys, m50 5 series sump and larger 5 series pickup.
