have 96 323 i and lost the keys how do i go about geting a key code

has it a transponder type key

any help will be great a bit lost on it thanks heaps

One option is to go to bmw with your licence plate details. From there they can get your vin and order you a key. I hope someone else knows of a cheaper option

to have a key coded to fit your car you have to get one from bmw and its very expensive but most locks smiths can make a key up for you just not a coded one

You can get a key from BMW Germany, they cut and code them to suit your car. Takes a couple of weeks though.

I've got a spare key on order from Paul at Milland.co.nz. It was more than $100 cheaper than the dealer, and comes from the same place (BMW Germany). You'll need some ID etc to prove ownership, but Paul will sort that out for you.

Sounds like you'll want to order at least 2 keys You can get a full remote, and just a plain key if you want to save some $.

order key from bmw dealer std key without remote etc about $150-200 depending on who you order it though. approx 10days?? delivery

next option is go to these guys .

they can make one up in a few hours , similer in price to make a copy etc.

they can get the code from the ews box if you take it in there.

and can cut a key from the boot lock if you take that in there too.

will cost more though if they have to come out and pick locks etc etc.

next option is to swap out the ews , ign unit , ecu and key , ews chip, door locks etc etc from another car like this .
