philk 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2012 Hi I'm interested if anyone has used any products on there BMW or could make any recommendations about internal cleaning of the engine without pulling it apart I have seen videos on YouTube of Seafoam and the likes. Not sure if it would be a good idea with a 540i though? What do you think? is there anything recommended for these engines? Or is it if it aint broke don't fix it. philk 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2012 We'll I'm happy, I did this today Subaru upper cylinder cleaner $21.50 from subaru. easy to do let it soak and then started it smoked for a little bit but nothing like the videos on you tube. I guess that means there wasn't too much carbon in there which is good. I followed the instructions to a tea so I'm sure I did it right.
