Badass Blacked Betty

Recommended Posts

tryed blacking the kidneys like they seem to do in the UK i think it looks sick but ended up finishing in the dark so heres a pic will get a diff one up if your interested, but its so simple you may as well try!

All you need to some 3M electrical tape that bends so you dont get wrinkles, and a sharp knife.

I'm going to have to get into the photochop to see what looks best for mine considering the eyelids and mirrors are in for the spray next week.

I just got my front valance, front lip, plastic bits from valance and rear boot lip done.

I did all the prep sanding, but they did the primer some minor bog and all painting and finishing.

Slight extra cost as they needed to put additives in the paint for the rubber boot lip so the pint won't crack as it flexes and expands etc in the sun or if someone puts weight on it, and they had a bit of trouble getting the paint to adhere to the stone-chip resistant coating on the front valance which I had sanded smooth but not removed.

$200 the lot.

I think that's the only bit of chrome that should be on a BMW!

agreed! although I dont mind chromes, but do agree that the kidney grills should always be chrome, not a fan of blacked out grills.

But thats just my opinion

Looks good on your car.

But I agree with Cain and Ryan - the kidney grille is the BMW trademark, so it should be left how they made it - chrome.

Buit as I said, suits your car.
