charles28 138 Report post Posted January 4, 2013 This is probably a bit shabby, but I might bid on it if its cheap enough, would be handy for when I move house in March (assuming its built on time) should be able to tow a decent dual axle covered trailer, the old MERC 190E can only tow 1000kg total according to the tow bar. http://www.turners.co.nz/Vehicles/Pages/Ca...x?RefId=1093020 It's rather basic on the options list, but I've never owned an E34, or even a car with an engine of 3.4L I'll test drive it on Tuesday and have a look anyway
_ethrty-Andy_ 2136 Report post Posted January 4, 2013 When i didnt know any different, E30s were really nice to drive. Then i got my e34. Not as fun in twisties because of weight, but as a cruiser car... 190E should be about the same as e30, so 1000kg sounds right

antil33t 90 Report post Posted January 4, 2013 My E34 can tow 1600kg according to the manual. Make sure you drive it faster than city speeds - the elusive shimmy can cost a bit to fix.

Hmm that poses a problem, turners here in CHCH only allow you to go 50km on their own crappy test track that's about 150m long and quite narrow. Mark 178 Report post Posted January 4, 2013 They've just listed another one, which is an SE with aircon. Same as mine pretty much except auto and has the aircon damnit. Looks fairly tidy apart from the ripped doorcard. http://www.turners.co.nz/Vehicles/Pages/Ca...x?RefId=1094677

charles28 138 Report post Posted January 10, 2013 Doh, the 540i passed through at $1200, the 535 with 78,000 miles sold for $1000, i couldn't bid as my credit card details were out of date on my turners login, stupid site doesn't let you update it, you have to get the admins to remove the details so you can add them again, so couldn't buy a bargin.. this time
