E39 530I Exhaust option

Recommended Posts

Just want to know if m-sport factory exhaust is a way to upgrade from standard versions.

Are there any after-market exhausts for the e39 530i?

Pretty sure the motorsport ones are just a different tip in effect.

I'm not sure that much would be gained in performance from an exhaust? The one on our 525i is HUGE and non of it seems terribly restrictive, although I have no facts or info to back that up :D

Ours is just the standard one.

Anyone know if the Jap ones have the same exhaust as Euros? I know some of the other models didn't.

How deep are your pockets, Remus, Supersprint, Eisenmann, Milltek, Schmiedmann, Rogue, Billy Boat, Hamann and so on.

I've got an aftermarket exhaust set up in my E39 Msport 530i currently.

It's unfortunately time for the car to move on so I'm reinstalling the factory set-up.

I'd be interested in selling it if you're interested. You can hear it first if you want.

PM me if you're interested. The 3l straight six gets a fantastic engine note when it's not muffled by the two massive boxes that come factory.

The M54 often has Cat-in-header design with pre and post Cat sensors.

Complicates the issue somewhat.

Does that mean more modifications to the steel work is needed to get the car working right then?

Not sure what you're getting at with 'steel work', but it means you need to find out how others have gone about adding headers and what they did to avoid CELs and stuff.

But first you need to find out if you have them.
