How many M powered cars are on the forum?

Recommended Posts

You mean a genuine fully M car? Like M3, M5 M6 etc?

Or do you mean a BMW that had a M engine transplanted?

How many M powered cars are on the forum and what are they?

I do Know of a couple at least, dont confuse the likes of an M3 & a 3 series with M Tech kit as they are chauk & cheese

I see you have a MK1 Golf GTi ( fantastic wee cars )

its the same as comparing a genuine Golf Gti, to a Golf L with a 1100 cc engine but it just happens to have the same recro style seats & str wheel in it

I would suggest you have a look on the net as you will be able to fined every thing you need on the genuine "m" cars

these are a serious bit of kit !!! :thumb:

Yes, I was meaning real M cars such as M3s, M5s, M6s etc.

I would have thought that there would be a few E36 3.0 on the forum at least being as how they are such go value for money at the moment.

there a couple of e30 m3's

to be honest most of the regulars have scum old e30's

the ones who have enough $$ to buy M cars probably have better things to do!

If you read TotalBMW (April '05), you could also include any 750i/850i, as the motors were assembled at the "M" plant. Cars that were developed by the "M" engineers included the 325iS (NZ M325i, hence the bigger sway bar mentioned here yesterday), the 850CSi and the 330Ci Clubsport (england only I think)

I knew someone would jump all over that.

Read it again, I said you "could" (ie, technically) include the 750/850, as the motors were supposedly hand built at the M plant, never said it was an M car. The others, as I said, again, were M products, that is they had input from the engineering division, not like now, where you walk in and ask for the M pack, they bolt on some 17s and a badge and away you go. The 850Csi was supposed to have 380bhp and a 6 speed manual, sounds like a good start for an M car to me.

Well he did say M powered. So that could be taken 2 ways:

A real genuine fully M car: M1, M3, M5, M6

or

Like Palazzo said, bits and peices from the MTECH factory, eg engine, gbox, lsd and stuff. Built be the MTECH people too.

I don't disagree on the 8 series -

Just the M325 i disagree on.
