Ahmedsinc 414 Report post Posted March 24, 2013 (edited) Hi guys. Have scored a stainless rear Eisenmann muffler for an E39 540i from a friend that had it sitting about in his shed for ages. Obviously it won't be a straight bolt up fit to the 325i, but will it be able to be modified to accommodate the twin pipe entry? Or failing that, would anyone here be interested in it? Looking at the Eisenmann Linky website they got for 800 pound (!!) new, does anyone have an idea what might be a fair price for it? I recall the largest space available in an E36 shell for a rear muffler is something like 250mm-300mm wide... that looks a fair bit wider. Just need a 75mm band clamp to secure to your existing exhaust * Assuming you're starting with a 540i. Not an E36 (dammit!!) zara 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2013 Bumping this up a little, I bought the muffler and tried getting it fitted. Turns out it's made for the non-motorsport bumper. The muffler won't fit my car unless the msport bumper is cut, won't clear the tip exit. I placed the muffler under a standard E39 and it fits perfectly. So now it's for sale! Ahmedsinc 414 Report post Posted April 27, 2013 really think you should just modify the bumper to suit mate. these mufflers are uncommonly rare in new zealand, and for the sake of carving out stuff all plastic (which only the most pedantic of enthusiasts would notice) it seems to me an acceptable compromise.
