allan 295 Report post Posted May 20, 2013 Well finally got the car back home last Monday since then have been able to tick a few items off the list. Bumpers, Skirts, colour PDC sensors, remove surplus wiring, reassemble interior trim, replace windscreen cover panel, wash and tidy up exterior of the car, trial fit the gear knob, make up some spacers to prevent the tail pipe melting the rear bumper also have a euro type front number plate holder to prepare and fit. Just need to build up the old piggy bank again then get the exhaust sorted, WOF inspection, Rego then the interior up grade. What she used to look like. Home covered in grime. New power plant New look The cover panel was split in a number Second hand M sport gear knob of places where it touches the windscreen M steering wheel from the 325 with the MFS functions from the

Neal 545 Report post Posted May 20, 2013 Great project Allan , it's come along well since I last saw it. No doubt you've become a E46 expert out of merging the two cars.
allan 295 Report post Posted May 20, 2013 Hi one and all Andy Not yet want to get it Wof'd and rego'd then do the interior, a set of Staggered Wheels, drive shaft hop's then get it certified. Nath Not a problem Pelican parts in the states just had to check it was for a right hand drive, when I inquired it was the only one they had then. The price was $66.50 US and shipping $48.75US freight was high because it was classed as a large item or $141.75NZ

Might have to swap cars for a turn at some stage a huge fan of this shape, came very close to buying a red one a few years back
allan 295 Report post Posted May 20, 2013 Hi Neal, This project has been a learning curve and steep at times. As for an expert on E46's I would say not just know a lot more about them mechanically and electrically. The electronics's on the car is my weak area just knowing what gear one needs to be able to carry out a scan how to turn on/off things with out stuffing it up etc.
_ethrty-Andy_ 2132 Report post Posted August 13, 2013 how you getting on??? Im impatient to see it all sorted
allan 295 Report post Posted August 13, 2013 MMM! hit a snag it's called money Andy, She is sitting in the garage turn the key and it's alive driving it up and down the drive is getting boring. Have one drive shaft hoop make final adjustments, trail fitting, painted and final fitting as well have bits for the second one to go on with. Will have a chat to the cert guy and see how busy he is last time I checked he had something like a dozen booked in he said allow 3 to 4 days each vehicle. In talking to him it appears to be more a paper war than anything and if the correct info is not readily available things get messy hence the pre chat to see if I can supply anything to smooth the waters. Still need to look into stage 2, fitting out the interior, wheels which is another thing to sort etc. will let you know when anything changes. Thanks for asking.
