E38 LPG conversion - worth it?

Looking at getting my 2001 E38 735i converted to LPG.

Has anyone done this conversion in an e38 (or e39/X5 with a M62 V8) ??

Does anyone recommend an installer in Wellington (or North island) ??

any other help/ideas hugely appreciated..

how many km do you do a week/year etc

will you keep the car long enough to get the value out of it

maybe sell the 735i and buy a 728i etc\

Havent had it priced up yet, just wanting anyones thoughts on it at this stage..

doing approx. 35-40 thousand k's a year,

and not willing to sell it - is mint condition and pretty high spec'd.

Will do as much research as I can

Probably not really common over here. It's possibly marginal if it's worth doing. To do it properly, you want a complex system. It can take a long time just to pay for itself.

Some of the UK forums would have good info on it, as it's pretty common over there.

Probably Poland is a good place to start, they LPG everything.

Anyway, you'll be looking at $5k+ for the conversion and the complex kind of the LPG system need a annual servicing. But since you drive a fair bit of milage per year, you can probably gain that cost back in couple of years.

out of interest would you also need to pay RUC?
