E36 rear axle / cv deceleration 'click'

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I've got a little issue I've noticed on my previous E36 axles and the newer ones I've installed where upon light deceleration or a change in direction like forward to reverse, occasionally the right and / or left CVs give a light biddable 'click' sound.

Is this normal for E36 CVs with a bit of age? Is it just a sign they are getting tired or maybe due to be repacked with grease?

Any input would greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Mike

haha, true.

But they only do it when my gearbox shifts from 4-3 or 3-2 with no throttle.. its very strange.

But yeah, maybe they are getting stressed? Then again I'm not putting out big torque or anything..

It's not the backlash in the diff is it? M3 does that all the time.
