1989 E30 320 manual NZ new

Recommended Posts

1989 320, registered as 1990, a touch over 357,000km

Pros

-manual

-engine has been well run in :D

-no aftermarket bits

-extensive (and expensive) service history

-rego til 13/7/15

-WOF til June

-sunroof

-towbar

-very, very minor rust. She's in good nick.

-two sets of keys

Cons

-dented front passenger guard

-indicator doesn't self cancel

-shifter bushings tired

-radio doesn't pick up signal or play cassettes

-lower front lip missing

-minor scuffing to bumpers- I think previous owners literally parked by feel

-about 4 cracks on dash, nothing major

I bought this car intending to lavish it with TLC but reality has prevailed. Makes an excellent runabout, happy as larry driving from Wairarapa to Auckland, cruises well. Yes the photos are from TradeMe but I only got the car recently and it looks the same. We are about 15 min south of Te Puke, car is often in Tauranga.

Looking for $2000, cheers.

The seats are a bit ripped but the foam is still good- I think the old owners put the sheepskin on because it looked ugly. Rust- the towbar carrier is rusty, some rust in the left rear tail light and some surface rust under the battery- certainly nothing to get worried about re WOFs etc. Car is ready to go, we picked it up sight unseen in Wellys, drove it to BOP, then the next week up to Akl and back down to the Wairarapa, so it certainly has no issues there. Travelling to Akl- couple times per year maybe, but not regularly

Still for sale, still wof/reg, is this the only manual E30 that nobody will buy?

bit scruffy around the edges and a 320i which is harder to sell at the best of times,

probably not too tempting to buy sight unseen at those kms

and not much room left to make a margin for someone looking at tidying up to flick off

never the less i believe it is still pretty well priced nz new car etc, the bones are still there, and pretty simple to swap a M20B25 in if you so wished, or perfect for an M5x conversion with the 320i Manual parts which are getting quite hard to find these days.
