M5V8 337 Report post Posted October 7, 2014 I'm looking at a evolve remap for my 2011 X5. Problem is they are asking if it's the 245 or 231bhp model. Since it was registered 10/11 is it safe to assume it's the later 245hp model? It has 8spd trans chassis & engine numbers: WBAZW42060L791463 33347884
gjm 3258 Report post Posted October 7, 2014 I'm a frustrated researcher. Your X5, registered 10/11, was built 08/11. BMW call it the E70N X5 30dX SUV N57, prod code ZW42. (From RealOEM.) The N57 has a number of variants: N57D30Ox has 1800 bar pressure, while N57D30Tx has 2000 bar pressure. N57D30Ox uses single turbocharger, while N57D30Tx uses 2 turbochargers, and N57S uses 3 turbochargers of varying size. Driftracewake 22 Report post Posted October 8, 2014 I'm having my Q7 V8 TDI re mapped at torque performance for the same sort of money as the evolve tune (or other tunes I could find overseas) and it comes with before/after dynos, and a bit of peace of mind that it's running safe. Might be worth a chat with Robin before spending the money on the evolve setup.
kiwi535 538 Report post Posted October 8, 2014 it won't be 1800 bar, will be 1.8 bar - basic error 1800 milli bar
E30 325i Rag-Top 2957 Report post Posted October 8, 2014 it won't be 1800 bar, will be 1.8 bar - basic error Depends if it's referring to the air (boost) pressure, or the fuel injection pressures...
M5V8 337 Report post Posted October 9, 2014 good question. it doesn't specify that. 1.8bar isn't very high for injectors I would have assumed boost?
E30 325i Rag-Top 2957 Report post Posted October 9, 2014 1.8 bar isn't very high boost pressure for a diesel either, especially on an N57, those figures are well short of where the boost should be. They do tie up with the fuel injection pressures though at 1800 bar and 2000 bar.
