I'm glad it missed us and we're all OK. But it got me thinking ; what other job/employment is there where you can get so wrong and still keep your job. Its like the story about the little boy who cried wolf too many times, one day nobody is going to listen. Well this is why I started looking at weather maps myself. Its actually pretty easy with the rain radar and external infrared cloud & sea surface temprature maps you can get a various weather sites. I dont do it all of the time but only when it counts EG cyclone. With the rain radar I made some notes on the speed and intesity of the wind and rain on the last few that went through and it helps calibrate how bad any forecoming ones are.
