Sooooo we now have to wait another 2 weeks. But this gives me a chance to get the new interior in and tints done, a little disappointing but he seems to be the only chap in Auckland who will certify the air bags and 'paint man that is so annoying but fingers crossed dude! I have a few things to sort out before getting the plate... 1. There is a slow leak somewhere, needs to be isolated, that should be fun since I cant hear any air escaping. 2. The Airbag system can only be operational when the car is in Park, so I need to build a harness using the P engage light as a signal. 3. Get a proper gear stick < haha
francoisv 466 Report post Posted May 7, 2017 So a couple of weeks ago I was approached by a media company asking if Rusta could be used in an Ad for a fairly big beer company supporting the English Lions tour coming up. This morning was filming for this, I'll upload the videa once it's completed and ready
francoisv 466 Report post Posted December 30, 2017 After 7 months in isolation, I decided to get the old girl out and stretch her legs. Did a round trip from Auckland to Thames and back, over nighting at Orere Thanks to @M M for helping to get her road worthy again
francoisv 466 Report post Posted February 10, 2019 Yearly oil over the surface rust. Every 12 months we burn off the clear coat and allow it to rust up a little mor when coat it in used engine oil and with this heat, it bakes it in quite well.
francoisv 466 Report post Posted August 26, 2019 So last week, during the heavenly breaks of rain, I had an idea to do something different with the ol 28er, as running the Rust Patina look for nearly 4 years began to make the car look a little ordinary ? (too me at least) and after having seen 2 other euros with the same look on a matter of weeks, i decided to park it up and begin sanding it back to bare metal. After 15 minutes and 4 sanding pads, i knew this would take longer than expected. So off to Mitre10 to grab a supply of sanding disks and a few more bags for the vacuum cleaner haha Over the last week, i have managed to get 90% of the sanding done
francoisv 466 Report post Posted August 26, 2019 (edited) The more i sanded the more i had a better idea of what i want, so I will be getting rid of the BBS Reps and replacing them with some other wheels (not the ones seen below, but they do look cool) I will also be doing some tints and other funky bits Edited August 26, 2019 by francoisv
