*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted January 28, 2016 Just finished making up my bait launcher canon proto type. Fired it tonight at 100Psi and achieved approx 200m outside the house with a lemon mounted in the barrel. The barrel length / pressure needs to be fine tuned. I know alot of these are for sale and have been made., but mine can safely be used at higher pressure due to the materials I have used and the way I have modified the sprinkler valve firing mechanism. I've made it to breakdown for cleaning and easy storage and so far it's hand held but will be building a launching pad/ rod holder and bait station. The barrel is 40mm and will have frozen bait bullets to include, sinker 2 baited hooks, traces and berley to make the bullet. Safety systems are built in and all gear apart from the barrel are 200psi rated. The safety valve is 150psi 1

*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted February 1, 2016 Firing test shots using a 1.5 meter barrel out at Tapu with my prototype. I'm also going to do a 1.25m & 1.75m barrel and test with pressures. Absolutely satisfied with the results firing a 40mm projectile at 100psi, 120 & 130 psi ..... now to do the sinker, baits & berley frozen bullets moulds and go hole hog with 150psi and catch some trophies

*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted February 17, 2016 Finally got my proto type finished. Adjustable range finder, rod launcher converts to rod holder after launching. Breaks down for minimalistic storage. 2 barrels 1.5 & 1.25m. All safety systems installed to operate at max 150psi... Any questions ? fire away

NVADER 54 Report post Posted February 17, 2016 (edited) That's awesome! I've made one minus the stand and fancy trigger. Just used a ball valve and a blown 10 bar pump pressure tank. If you use 50mm PN12 PVC for a barrel and then get yourself a couple of small V cans you can cut the top off, fill them with water and freeze your bait and tackle into them. You could actually hook up an old rattle gun to reel it in too Edited February 17, 2016 by NVADER
*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted February 18, 2016 (edited) I've got 12 bait moulds made from spare barrel material that I'll be loading with a 5oz sinker, trace, 2 hooks and mussel berlie which will be getting frozen. I'll post pictures when I do that. The fancy trigger gives you much more distance because of a very fast release Edited February 18, 2016 by *Glenn*
richard 384 Report post Posted February 18, 2016 how many times can you fire it before the tank is empty
*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted February 18, 2016 Once.. then recompress and load another bait bullet. It takes 90-110 seconds to pump up to 130 psi
Pumbaa 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2019 Hi Glenn, is it possible to get a list of materials you used, especially the trigger and solenoid side of things. I am building something similar and really like th safety side of things but trying to work out how the solenoid and trigger work. Cheers Jason
