Thinking of buying a Porsche

Porsche purists will probably hate me but I am thinking about getting a 996. Preference is for a manual 2002+ car. Wary of the IMS bearing issue so a PPi would be mandatory and I would also likely budget 3-4k for it to be replaced. I have driven a Tiptronic and it was surprising responsive  but I think manual is the way to go. I have been watching this one but its a bit far away.

plane tickets are cheap enough then drive it back ,

will be a fun drive .

needs more low and some headlight covers etc , and a better steering wheel and black leather

I don't think that's a very good car at all. It doesn't even have ISOFIX in the back...

That said... FCP Euro sells Porsche parts, so sounds good to me!

We need a dislike button on these forums, clearly! Who doesn't consider ISOFIX critical when buying a two-door Porsche?!

This car is gorgeous dude, maybe one day, when ISOFIX isn't a requirement for me, I can do something like get a nice coupe. Z4/M Roadster/Porsche/Miata?

have heard the Turbos (and GT3?) are the safest bet for crank and seals, use same block, separate from the rest and built to different spec.  There’s your business case justification for boost ?

PS: within 3 weeks my e60 will be in a suitable state for you to drive.  Brakes with 2 weeks, I reckon.  I’ve a boot full of new rotors ?

on a serious note, I was wondering how you were getting on with that plan.  If you buy pork, will your 335i remain?

Good question I might sell the 335i and get an E36 Coupe so I still have a BMW.
