SmithyInWelly 212 Report post Posted December 21, 2018 So after selling the E91, I came over all sensible-like and bought a 2008 Mazda 6 Sport Liftback thingamagigee... lovely car - it's the top spec; leather, s/roof, parking sensors (rear), etc... NZ new, 130km, nice light blue/silver colour. But goooodddddammmmmn it's boring. So, in the new year it's going on T/me; and will get something sensible (and smaller) for Mrs Smithy (ie: Maz2 Sprt) which'll be our commuter car - and I'll get something cheap with a bit of a pulse. I know, I know, shoulda kept the E91 - hindsight eh! Anyway if anyone has "a friend" who wants a nice sensible, slightly sporty, Kiwi new liftback with a decent service history. Let me know. Price-wise will be around the $10k mark - will probably advertise in the 11's. Cheers Slightly Frustrated of Lower Hutt.
jamesmcd 10 Report post Posted December 28, 2018 Rather than buying two cars after you sell this mistake, could you just get a decent NZ New 1 series? That way it’s small enough for your wife and you can still get one that’s fast.

qube 3570 Report post Posted December 29, 2018 not really, i mean except for the obvious which is the speed. I would rather drive the 116i as a daily and even on trips its perfectly fine.
SmithyInWelly 212 Report post Posted December 30, 2018 Once I sell the 6 I'll be getting Mrs Smithy something small and hatchbacky from Asia - I've got my eye on something else for me

Something not completely boring and with a very limited budget (like, $5k) so sorry @treone - the M car is a way away yet for me sadly; got other priorities this year (namely mortgage smashing). jamesmcd 10 Report post Posted December 31, 2018 Plenty of older 540i options in Wellington. Cheap to buy, expensive to run...
SmithyInWelly 212 Report post Posted December 31, 2018 Yes, there are plenty of 540i options in and around Wellington - also checked out a nice original 535i whilst in Nelson the other day... bluddy boring spec tho.
