E30 325i Rag-Top 2956 Report post Posted August 12, 2019 Put the VIN number into RealOEM and look at the parts required for the iDrive / Navigation systems. Probably going to need conversion from Jap to NZ, so maybe talk to one of the conversion specialists who can tell you the pro's and con's of the different system and costs to convert. qube 3570 Report post Posted August 12, 2019 new CIC (wide screen, doesnt flip down, more buttons on the controller) old CCC (smaller screen, flips down, more basic controller, old software) the CIC is better for sure but not by a lot. bluetooth connectivity is rubbish, you wont get music streaming anyway on either system. hugo_nz 166 Report post Posted August 19, 2019 The 1-series received CIC starting 09/2008 so yours may well have CIC, but as it's a Japanese system the hardware will be different to that of ECE cars.
