SmackJackTheCrackerMan 54 Report post Posted October 11, 2020 Has anybody gone down the route of Single Turbo like the one available from DOC Race for the N54? https://docrace.com/products/bmw-335i-n54-n55-single-turbo-kit?variant=27927526146150 i would imagine you would require a fair few supporting mods but seems like a pretty comprehensive kit

HalfJobHarry 106 Report post Posted October 12, 2020 It's crossed my mind, but with the roads here I'm going to persist with a dual turbo setup aiming for a fairly modest 500 hp at the crank in the near future. There is realistically so much more needed though, that kit is just the 'core' of the system. A significantly better and larger inter-cooler is all but essential for single turbo. JB4. Two step cooler plugs. Upgraded chargepipe (if you don't already have one). Depending on your power goal (which is presumably well in excess of 600 HP if you're going single turbo) fueling needs consideration too, E85 setup (LPFP ugrade and HPFP overdrive kits)....or additional port injection. smiddy 76 Report post Posted October 12, 2020 Available fueling options, (octane) is stumbling block here, certainly not a daily with this setup. Nice car, great work and mods.
Ninjaspartan 23 Report post Posted October 15, 2020 A single turbo did cross my mine as well, but ended up 17T turbos and love em so far. The supporting mods are pretty much the same for single or twins, Intercooler, fueling, spark plugs, coils etc.
