Hi Guys E30 M3 Convertible

Recommended Posts

I'm emigrating / coming home to NZ next year with my E30 M3 Convertible.  I've had it 14 years now and can't wait to explore the country in it.

I'd been keen on any advice and recommendations for compliance places near Auckland.  While it is 99% rust free (they've never 100% clear) I have had a few spots repaired over the years.  They've all been repaired well but you can tell it has been repaired and in reading the compliance manual I think those spots will probably get marked for further investigation and possibly require certification.

Is there any benefit to have it classified as either an 'immigrant's' vehicle or a 'special interest' vehicle?

I think you do not pay GST on an Immigrant's vehicle (don't quote me on it but a friend imported his Golf R from Australia when he migrated here last year and just had to pay shipping and compliance costs).

That’s correct, as long as you have owned the vehicle for a period of time. It was a year when we bought our cars back from the UK.

Less than a year means you pay gst on a depreciated valuation of the car.

Yep, I’m brining 3 cars and a motorcycle. So long as I don’t sell them for 2 years, no GST or duty is payable.

I’ve owned them all for at least 4 years.

Stunning, Macao blue is a special colour!

Not my favourite TBH. It’s the most common colour on E30 M3 convertibles
